Maries County High Speed Drug Bust

Maries County authorities are looking for the passenger in a car pulled over during a high-speed chase loaded with drugs.

A sheriff deputy noticed a stolen vehicle on Highway 133 near Dixon on Wednesday, leading to a pursuit with speeds getting up to about 100 miles per hour. The driver, Brandon Veasman, eventually spun out on a county road and hit a fence. He tried to get away on foot but the deputy tracked him down. Veasman is already a ten-time convicted felon.

Investigators found several meth lab components inside the stolen vehicle. However, after a search of the area, they couldn’t find the second suspect. Veasman faces several more charges, and is in the Maries County Jail.
