Investigators believe alcohol may have played a role in a fatal wrong-way crash in Jefferson City. It happened on Highway 54 near the Route 179 interchange at about 10:00 last night.
Police say a white pickup truck pulled onto the wrong side of the highway and hit a sedan. The 19-year-old driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene. Her passenger was life-flighted to University Hospital with unknown injuries.
There’s no word yet on any charges pending against the driver of the truck.
