Breakfast is the best!!! Biscuits and gravy and omelet bar were really awesome! Great selection on the buffet. Will definitely go back!

Crazy good Extreme Nachos app! cant beat it during their 7 days a week happy hour from 4-7pm. The plate it loaded to the brim with yellow chips, nacho cheese, chicken, peppers, olives, tomato's, onions and shredded cheese. Comes with salsa and sour cream to. Enough for 2 people easy. Good stuff!

I used to own a restaurant downtown, and hey guess what, it's no free refills on gamedays, so people do not camp out at tables for 3 hours, and walk away with paying a 2 dollar bar tab!! Trumans is a BUSINESS. Secondly, the wings are fantastic. Third- if you don't like the fishtank, then you can sit somewhere else. You seat yourself ya know...
I personally never had a bad experience at Trumans. The lunch specials are great, the service was friendly (and attractive) and the atmosphere is nice. Last, you absolutely CAN NOT beat the happy hour 1/2 price drinks. You definetely get more "drink" than what you pay for!

First thing I noticed was a sign on the door "NO FREE REFILLS ON GAME DAY".

I thought that was a rude way to greet their customers, not to mention cheap of them.

Food is OK, and drink specials aren't better than other places. Their fish tank in the center of the room needs cleaning badly - that may be a sign of how often they clean things, but I'm not sure.

They have "Jumbo Award Winning Wings" on their menu that are anything but...

Would not recommend them. (2.5 Stars)

I love Trumans! The drinks are super cheap and they always have specials. The food is great bar food with huge portions. I love anything buffalo. Great place for happy hour and appetizers.

The lunch was amazing, I had the Buffalo Chicken Wrap and their unbeatable tatter tots. And I got a huge serving for only $4.95. I will definitely make it a regular stop for lunch.

Ate at Trumans yesterday for lunch with some coworkers. They have an awesome lunch menu where everything is only $4.95! The portions were huge and my turkey bacon wrap with pasta salad was great! Would definitely recommend it everyone looking for a place to eat!

I've been going there for 5 years and love it. The menu is huge and delicious. I can get anything from a steak and seafood dinner, fat juicy burger, veggie wrap, pizza, or eggs and hashbrowns, morning or night. They have a lunch menu that is only $4.95 every day, and the service has always been great.
They definitely have highchairs, a kids menu, and show cartoons on a big screen. My kids want me to take them there almost every Saturday.
As for seating yourself, I like being able to walk in and sit where I want. I generally don't go somewhere named (insert name)Bar & Grill and expect to be put on a waiting list and seated by a hostess, but then again I don't want to be greeted in the bathroom by a guy to give me a warm towel and spray me with cheap Polo either.

The service was pretty slow to decide they actually wanted to wait on me, but when she finally did, she was attentive. The food was pretty decent, but not spectacular, especially for the price. The waitresses spent a significant amount of time talking to each other, which I don't mind unless it's at the expense of service.

I've eaten here 5-10 times, and the Sunday breakfast buffet has never disappointed. The menu items have been good as well. Very casual, somewhat loud so kids are welcome. If you know to seat yourself, you'll avoid an unnecessary wait at the entrance.

I cannot really comment on the food, as my wife and I did not stay long enough to eat it. At first we were not sure if we should seat ourselves, and many staff walked past us without saying a word. Finally we asked someone, and found out that we needed to seat ourselves. Then it took forever to have a waiter take our drink orders. 10 minutes later, we actually walked to the bar ourselves to pick the drinks up. We had not ordered food yet, and we basically decided to hit the road at that point. That was some of the worst service I've ever seen in Columbia. Never going back, and would not recommend it to anyone based on my experience.

I don't know if it's just me or if others share my opinion...but I have had the ABSOLUTE worst service and experience when I have visited Truman's. (Okay...admittedly, there was one instance when we visited there on a Sunday for breakfast and had an average to pleasant experience). However, on every occasion that we have returned, hoping for inexpensive food and quick and friendly service...we have been severely disappointed. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone and shall never return. The service is exceptionally slow and the staff are completely rude and unprofessional!
Recently, we went there on Saturday for a late breakfast and/or lunch.
My boyfriend opted for the breakfast buffet while I decided on a menu option.
After my boyfriend's first trip to the buffet we were both appalled and disgusted to see a staff member (an individual we could only assume to be the manager), eating directly from the buffet. YES! She actually put her hands in a chafing dish and pulled sausage out and sowed down on the diningroom floor. GROSS. (I'm sure the Health Department would be delighted at this sight). This was proceeded by other waitstaff "hanging" out at the buffet and chatting, while obliviously stirring food because they were bored? And while I realize that this is a bar and we do only get what we pay for, I would surely expect a little bit more common sense displayed! Moreover, as I have stated earlier I cannot forgive on more than one occasion the ABSOLUTELY HORRIFIC service. Maybe some people are not as particular as me...maybe some people do not care...maybe I should care less because I'm being waited on by people who care more about if their mascara is running or their shorts are short enough. I KNOW it's a bar but seriously, I am a fair and pleasant customer and I tip very well...but it seems to me that time and time again, the waitstaff just simply do not care that their tips (or so I thought), were their livelihood. Word of advice...your money, your time, and your sanity is better spent elsewhere! AND it won't matter how drunk you get because the beer will never get there fast enough for that to happen.

the pros:
fun menu, big portions, good food, good tvs, cool decor

the cons: below average service and the place seems dirty these days. wife and I went there a week ago and every table was dirty, the floor was sticky and the bathroom was an absolute swamp. I will go back but they need to have an employee cleaning party over a couple of days before it gets out of hand

Some of the best lunch specials in town. Make sure to order off of the lunch menu. Daily specials make lunch affordable. Pricey at night and you don't get anything more for your money. Their Burgers are top notch, and you can find coupons. Service is ok, usually not enough staff on hand and the environment is unique. They do have a large fish tank, but they are not kid friendly. I don't know if they should be or not, but if you can leave the kids at home, its best. The midget is definitly a draw, you can't have too many of them.

Their burgers are great and I highly recommend the berries & cream porkburger. Good drink specials and fairly good service. With all of the tv's there is always something to watch, though having audio on during the MU games would be an improvement.

To the poster from 10/17 - forget about the high chairs, don't take your kids to a BAR!!!

Good food and beer with lots of TV's but service is hit or miss. Some of the serving staff act as if they don't want to be there and it shows.

Beer at 0700, what more can you say.

Dinner or Breakfast served all the time. HUGE Portions. Good food.

Lots of TVs and there is Pool.

Love the Salt Water Fishtank.

Plus they have a Midget (they advertise this!!!!)

Great sports bar. Lots of tv's so you can catch whatever game you want to see. Excellent food, generous portions...check out the Sunday brunch buffet and the daily specials. I recommend the all-day breakfast plates, the chicken wings (w/ your choice of tasty BBQ sauces), and the burgers, especially the berries'n'cream porkburger! Great service, fun atmosphere.
