One of the best restaurants in the Mid MO area. Service is wonderful and so it the food.

Jumbo Shrimp... YUM!!!

one word of advise...order the onion rings!

Excellent...excellent food, excellent service. If you haven't been, go!

We really enjoyed our road trip to historic Bavier missouri with a group of friends to the Pear Tree. It was my first experience with the homemade dressing and it was wonderful! I've since purchased a bottle for home, but its not quite the same. The wine, food and company was wonderful. It was more than just dinner, it was an experience!

I love the Pear Tree, but hate it when they stand over you to get you to leave. It seems he's nonverbally telling you that you are costing them money by sitting and enjoying your group's company.
I find the wait staff a little to stiff. They are less bubbly than at other restaurants of this genre.
The lighting is a little dim in some places. The Restrooms need to be moved and upgraded. Please make them BIGGER!
I get my own little taste of the Pear Tree by purchasing their croutons and dressings at their sub shop in Macon, just south of Taco Bell.

We went with family for a special occasion. The service was perfect, but the food was not as good as when Al was there. My steak was not properly cooked and wasn't tender and my wife's Prime rib did not look like a 12 oz. cut. We expected the price increase, but were really disappointed that the food quality seemed off. Maybe we hit a bad night. Also, Mike didn't come around and greet people the way Al always did.

I took a client out to dinner recently at The Pear Tree and had an absolute ball. I had been there before with my husband and wanted to share the experience with my favorite clients. It was not disappointing! Fantastic service from everyone, perfect food, wonderful relaxed atmosphere...even the drive is nice. It gives my husband and I a chance to catch up and talk about our day. We were personally greeted by Al when we arrived and the chef after our meal. Hands down my favorite place to eat.

My first visit to the Pear Tree was a great experience. Excellent food and Excellent service. Thank you very much !!!!

A personal favorite and worth the 90-minute drive. Our steak has been fork-tender every time. Regarding decor, most items are antiques the owner (Al) picks up on his domestic and international travels. The atmosphere is comfortable, not upscale. Al greets everyone personally and the overall experience reminds me of growing up, eating in the smaller places on The Hill in St. Louis.

What a great place to eat, it is quite costly, so I can only enjoy it about once a year. I have been there quite a few times and each time I try something different. Each time it tasted great. I would highly recommend the onion rings!! I will agree with others that the decor is not as good as it could be as well as the fact that it gets cold in there. Overall... this place is EXCELLENT!!

WONDERFUL IS ALL I CAN SAY....WHAT A GREAT MEAL.

This is my favorite resturaunt in Missouri. The service is great and the batter dipped fried lobster is like no other. We drive 1 1/2 hours just to enjoy the experience!

Luckily the food is so good it distracts you from the decor and hurried atmosphere. Still a gret place to eat.

We love the Pear Tree!! The onion rings are awesome. Mostly I love the batter fried lobster tail, it is to die for! For a nice night out and great food go to the Pear Tree.

WOW! THIS PLACE HAS THE BEST FOOD AND SERVICE OF ANY PLACE THAT I HAVE EVER BEEN. IT COST A LITTLE MORE TO EAT HERE BUT IT IS WORTH IT. THE BEST ONION RINGS IN THE WORLD!!!

We have gone to The Pear Tree for years as a couple and attending Christmas Parties along with Celebrations. After eating all that Al and Michael have to offer, I am ready to start at the top of the menu again. The Prime Rib melts in your mouth and the garlic mashed potatoes are just as prime. After 20 years of enjoying the service and spirits...I look forward to another 20 years.

The batter dipped lobster is to die for! The atmosphere is one you would expect in a larger city like New York or Chicago, with a personal touch by Al greeting every customer. You have to eat here, however, if you do you will be going back for the rest of your life.
