Soup and Salad special for lunch was HUGE, enough for two to enjoy. Make sure you try the baked potato soup, it was d-e-l-i-c-i-o-u-s !!!
We ate in Bennigan's on a busy night and our food and service was outstanding. The hostess, Liz, was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, and suggested the fried mushroom appetizer, which was delicious! Our server, Jamaca, was delightful and our food was out as fast as lightning. The manager on duty, Jill, visited our table and made sure everything was satisfactory. We had a banana xango for dessert and it was to die for! I will be back again and again!!!!!!!!!!!!
Meh-it's your run of the mill tavern place.
My experience at Bennigan's was okay. I go to places for food, and it was in that department that I was completely dissappointed. The host was very polite. She opened the door for me, and made me feel like I was walking into a "Mom n Pop" restaurant. Our server was great as well- a curly haired college student that made us feel right at home. However, the minute we got our sirloin and monty crisco, we were immediately dissappointed. Obviously, the monty crisco was deep fried, but it was very overcooked, and so was my sirloin. Tough and overcooked. I mentioned it to my server, and he was on top of it. He had our meal completely remade, and still got us a small discount. The manager was ok, some man that seemed like he had better things to do.
All-in-all: I plan to go back!
The food was really good and the resturant was really clean. The service was slow, but the waitress was very polite. I suggest the long island ice tea, it was worth the wait. The price is comparable to chilis or applebees, but i think the food was better than applebees.
Bennigan's has some of the best burgers in Columbia. Also the other entrees are just as good. They have both a bar type atmosphere, but also a nice dining area if you prefer. Great food at a fair price, around 7.99 for a burger and fries. Not to mention the fries are all you can it. Great place to grap a bite and watch the game.
I love this place! I have been to Bennigan's 5 times this year and it gets better every time. Their Guiness Glazed Bacon Burger is awesome and my wife loves the spinach chicken salad. Not to sure about some other reviews that discuss service issues. The 4 different servers I have had have all been courteous and attentive. Only thing I didn't like was that the dinning room was a little cool. I'll be back soon.
Honestly, I don't understand where these bad ratings are coming from! I've eaten at Bennigan's several times, and my service has always been more than excellent. Yes, servers to chat, but who doesn't? I worked in a restaurant back in my younger days, and chatting with one-another put us in better moods, therefore making us better servers! The food is always great. Occasionally there is more of a wait then there should be, but I never really mind it.
I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great time, a friendly environment, great food, and a staff that isn't afraid to talk to you!
Honestly, could you have any worse service? Had a horrible experience the first time I went here, but my lady really liked the food so we decided that we would go back and try again. Once again we had the worse service possible. Food took forever to come out and they were not busy at all. I will never even think about going back to this place.
I ordered a deep fried sandwich, which was well...deep fried and a bit of a dumb thing to order for me personally. however, the fries are tasty and bottomless. great place to eat when applebees sounds bland.
Food was okay and served lukewarm. I ordered a medium steak and got one that was well done. Service was apathetic at best considering the ratio of wait staff to customers.
Monte Cristo is the best, service is so-so. Staff tends to visit with each other. Do not always have all of the desserts on the menu.
If you are looking for a delicious chocolate dessert, you have to have the Death by chocolate. It's to die for!
Bennigan's has the best strawberry daquiri I have ever had in my life!
Food is good, and a different and more attractive selection than the typical bar and grill. Soda always tastes funny. Service is so-so, tend to congregate and chit-chat. Good special on burgers Wednesdays.
Food is pretty good. The service is usually great, but overall it's not too bad at all!
