Bentley’s Restaurant & Pub has been serving up steak, seafood, and beautiful views of the Lake for more than 40 years now.
Clarence and Margaret Ziegler, the founders of Bentley’s, have locations outside St. Louis and at the Lake. Bentley’s is truly a family business, with several of Clarence’s nine siblings acting as partners.
Clarence and Margaret Ziegler decided to name the restaurant after the line of British automobiles to represent the consistent quality of Bentley’s food. According to the restaurant’s website, Bentley’s staff are trained to be refined and precise — like a true Bentley.
“That attention to detail is evident in the simplicity and design of the menu and wine list, the array of brass etchings on the walls, and the demeanor of the wait staff, neatly attired in tuxedo shirts and black bow ties,” the website states.
Bentley’s has a decidedly British theme, with dark oak throughout the building and a charming fireplace. The two main dining rooms seat up to 140 people, and the patio offers a panoramic view of waterfalls and the Lake of the Ozarks.
The Bentley’s menu features a wide variety of appetizers, prime rib, chicken, seafood, steak, pork chops, vegetarian options, desserts, drinks, and more. Bentley’s offers traditional surf-and-turf options (including king crab legs, prime top sirloin, and bacon-wrapped pork loin), as well as more unexpected offerings like smothered teriyaki chicken, steak Neptune, chicken quesadillas, and filet mignon sliders.
After the main course, diners can enjoy a wide range of specialty ice cream — including Tumbleweed, Gold Cadillac, and Brandy Alexander — as well as alcoholic ice cream treats like the Toasted Almond (coconut, amaretto, cacao) and Mont Blanc (chambord, sherbet, vodka, vanilla).
Bentley’s Restaurant & Pub is the #1 restaurant in Lake Ozark, according to reviewers on TripAdvisor. Ninety percent of TripAdvisor visitors recommend Bentley’s, citing the “excellent steak,” “attentive staff,” “spectacular patio,” and “incredible view” as reasons they keep coming back. Bentley’s received the 2013 Certificate of Excellence designation, which represents the top 10 percent of all TripAdvisor-listed businesses.
